Baths of Herodes Atticus
photoView looking west at the remains of the baths and gymnasium that were erected by Herodes Atticus (about A.D. 135), a friend of the emperor Hadrian, who administered the province of Asia for a period of time. Herodes Atticus is the same person who built the well-preserved odeon at the foot of the acropolis in Athens.
