Gate of Mettius Modestus

View looking north at the gate that was built by the governor of Patara ca. A.D. 100. Note the triple arched entranceway. Busts of Modestus and his family were placed on the projecting stones (“consoles”) of the gateway.

This gateway is located on the north side of Patara.
