View to the east-southeast. Just left of the center of the image is the women's section of the prayer area at the Western Wall.
In the upper right quadrant of the image, the black dome of the al-Aqsa Mosque is clearly visible along with the associated minaret. The mosque is situated at the southern end of the old Herodian Temple Platform. The entrance onto the old Temple Platform, called by the Moslems the "Haram esh-Sharif" ("The Noble Sanctuary") is through the green door directly in the center of the image. A pathway leads up to this door from the right side of the photo.
