View of the shoots from the small stump of a relatively young olive tree that was cut down.
The important point here is that in spite of the tree being cut down, new shoots are growing out of the bottom of the tree. The tree is still alive, and these shoots can eventually trimmed and rooted so as to produce additional trees. Isaiah 11:1-4 is especially instructive in this regard.
