The woman in the image is baking large pieces of flat bread on a concave metal oven that is placed over a burning brush fire – visible to her right. After baking on one side it is turned over to bake on the other (almost like “frying” it, but without oil). The baked bread is stacked in a pile just above and to the left of the woman.
Behind and to the right of the woman is the raw grain, behind her on the left are balls of dough, and to her left a ball of dough has been flattened on a “pillow” to prepare it to be placed on the stove to her right.
This bakery is located at Banias on the Golan Heights..
