View looking north along the western side of the tel where Israel Finkelstein discovered a wall from the MB IIC Period (ca. 1650-1550 BC) with buildings from the Iron Age I (1200-1000 BC) attached to it.
The MB IIC wall runs along the top portion of the image from right (south) to left (north)
The stones in the foreground are from the Iron Age I structures are perpendicular to the wall. In the Iron Age I structures he found a number of large Iron Age I storage jars. The destruction of the Iron Age I structures may have come at the hands of the Philistines.
