View of the Nahal (river) Dan near its source near the foot of Tel Dan (Tell el-Qadi).
The powerful spring provides up to 62,872 million gallons [238 million cubic meters] of water annually. This is about 22.5 gallons [8.5 cubic centimeters] of water per second! This is the largest and most important source of the Jordan River. It is fed from the rain and snow that fall on Mt. Hermon.
