A view of one of the many springs at Tel Dan (Tell el-Qadi) that combine to form the headwaters of the Jordan River.
In general, springs provide up to 62,872 million gallons [238 million cubic meters] of water annually. This is about 22.5 gallons [8.5 cubic centimeters] of water per second! This is the largest and most important source of the Jordan River. They are fed by the rain and snow that falls on Mt. Hermon.
