View of the lintel above the central door of the synagogue at Baram. Note the wreath with the double knot. On both sides of the wreath and knot it appears that some things have been chiseled away. At Capernaum they found a keystone with a wreath and a double knot that had birds on either sides of them pulling on the knot (the outline of the birds, even though chiseled away, are still visible).
On the top of the lintel please notice the vine tendrils, the grape leaves, and the grapes.
The dating of these synagogues is much debated with dates ranging from the third century A.D. (unlikely) to the six century (more probable).
