Looking west along the southern wall of Early Bronze Age Arad. This solid wall is about 10' thick. Note the semi–circular tower [left center of image]. Thick city walls with semi-circular towers attached to them are characteristic of Early Bronze Age cities (compare et–Tell, Yarmuth, etc.).
