A view of a large section of the so-called "Septimius Severus warehouse." In fact, this storage area was constructed earlier, possibly during the reign of Marcus Aurelius (r. A.D. 160–180) of the "Antonioni Dynasty."
Note the vaulting in the entrances to the storage spaces. The modern fencing on the top is a viewing platform from which the Harbor of Trajan is visible.
The warehouse was situated on the western edge of the octagonal Trajan Harbor. Portions of the walls of the second floor are still preserved.
