View looking south along the west side of Qasr al–Abd. On the right (west) the flat area is part of the large lake that surrounded the Tobiad palace—visible on the left. In the center of the image, the green rise with trees on it—not the hills on the horizion—is the [150 m.] long dam that bounded the lake on the south.
