Detail of the oldest of all the “inscriptions” of Nahr el–Kalb—that of Rameses II (1292–1225 B.C.) sacrificing a prisoner to the god Harmakhis.
Originally this inscription was covered with hieroglyphic writing that unfortunately has been weathered away.
