View looking south at the interior face of the Late Roman Gate on the south wall at Perge. It was rebuilt numerous times.
Originally there were five arches in the doorway, now only three are visible and only the central one is open. Note the smaller lower gate built of spolia in the left arched area. And above and both sides of the central arch note the niches in the wall for statues. Statues of deities such as Athena, Artemis, Aphrodite, Nemesis and Asclepius were found in the area and are now in the Antalya Museum.
