View of the head of an unusual statue of a prancing horse that was found at Nymphaeum of Caracalla at Perga.
I am not an expert on horses, but this statue looks very life–like to me. As I notice the detail of the musculature, mane, bridle, etc. the statue seems amazing to me!!
This is one of many close–to–life–size statues were found both in and in front of the pool of the Nymphaeum. Originally these statues would have decorated the pool.
