view of a marble statue of Poseidon—the god of the sea, storms, and earthquakes (Roman "Neptune"). It was found in Byblos (Jebeil, Lebanon). It dates to the first century B.C. - first century A.D.
The statue is on display in the Archeology Museum in Istanbul.
