Portion of a grave marker from Pergamum dating to the Hellenistic Period (about the third century B.C.). Note the couple reclining on a bench – as if at a banquet. One of them seems to be feeding three animals while the other is holding an object in his raised hand. On the left someone is sitting on a chair, while on the right a servant stands by a large liquid container. Note too the pediment and Acroteria on the building along with the side columns that support the roof.
This artifact is on display in the museum at Bergama (the modern city by Pergamum).
