This basin on a pedestal was found on the acropolis of Pergamum. Two pieces, both carved out of solid stone. It is about 40 in. [1 m.] high and the diameter of the basin is about 60 in. [1.5 m.]. It dates to the Roman Period (= first to third centuries A.D.).
Originally it probably was placed in the center of an atrium in a Roman Villa. Today it is on display in the atrium of the Bergama Museum!
