Large scale excavations are under way (summer 2003) near a large Byzantine Church. The large street running from the lower left (north) to the church in the middle of the image has been cleared. The massive northern wall of the church, about 10 ft. [3 m.] high is visible. The church may have been dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
It is located near the highest point of the mound of Laodicea.
