View looking north as one approaches the theater at Myra. On the left (west) side of the image one of the well-preserved entrances to the theater is visible. The theater at Myra was built into the hillside in the Hellenistic Period. After an earthquake in A.D. 141 it was extensively restored. Tombs are carved into the cliff face behind the theater.
