View, near the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee, of a fishing boat deploying its net. Note the boat, small but visible and coming toward the viewer, and the circle formed by the net in the center of the image. The boat is in the process of "closing" the entrance to the circle.

If the net is left in a circular formation then a small boat can enter the circle and deploy smaller nets to catch and haul in the fish which are trapped in the larger circle. Alternately, depending upon the type of large net used, the large net can be drawn in, and the fish caught in it can be removed and processed.

This picture was actually taken from the top of the Golan Heights, from an old Syrian bunker, looking down on the sea.
