View looking west at the eastern slope of the Palatine Hill. Notice the six arched structure that serves as a retaining wall for the hill and which probably supported a platform above them.
On this side of them, lower down, the brick walls of shops or houses (insula) are visible. They were lining the road in this area. There may also have been fountains in the area.
