View looking northeast from the top of the Acrocorinth. This is an important image — please note the following.
On the right side of the image is the blue water of the Saronic Gulf, on the left the blue water of the Gulf of Corinth. In the center of the image the land bridge between the Peloponnese and the mainland of Greece is clearly visible (= the isthmus!).
In the upper left portion of the image snow covered mountains are visible. In the foreground the crenellations (merlons) of the wall of the Acrocorinth are visible.
