View in the interior of the top of the Herodium of the Triclinium, which was just west of the interior garden . Looking west.
During the Herodian period the room served as a "Triclinium" - a dining room with couches. But many have suggested that the Jewish Zealots, who occupied the Herodium during the First Revolt (A.D. 66-70) added the benches and turned the room into a synagogue. Click here for an additional view.
