View through the trench that the Germans dug on the eastern side of Megiddo - looking toward Mt. Moreh 9.5 mi. [15 km.] in the distance. At the bottom level of the trench a number of Early Bronze Age cultic structures, including four temples and a large circular altar, were found.
In the center of the photo the large Early Bronze Age altar is visible in the shadow. In the distance (right of center) is Mount Gilboa.
