This large bronze statue was found in the Rhône river in Lyon (ancient Lugdunum) in 1859.  It appears to be the god Neptune (Greek: Poseidon).   It dates to the second century A.D.

All of the other bronze statues that were found in modern times have been melted down for the reusing of the metal (sigh!).

Information from a sign in the museum.
