View looking west at the doorway of the so–called Tomb of Agamemnon/Treasury of Atreus. The doorway is about 16 ft. [5 m.] high and tapers slightly towards the top.
The huge stone lintel slab on the top of the doorway is 26 ft. [8 m.] long and is said to weigh 132 ton (US) [120,000 kg.]! The weight relieving triangle above it originally contained a decorated slab—compare the Lions Slab above the Lions’ Gate of the citadel of Mycenae.
