Detailed view of the entrance to the north side of the "early shrine."
In the center of the image the carved plaster on the hewn stones is clearly visible (almost looks like Herodian "masonry"; compare that found at Masada). Below it is the carved molding—compare what was found at the tomb of Herod at the Herodium! On the left (south) side of the image the plastered banister is visible.
