View looking north at the southern “entrance” to the Tobiad palace Qasr al–Abd.  The two stone columns mark the “entrance .”

On the left side of the image the southwest corner of the building is visible.  Here on the southwest corner the carved “corner lions” are clearly visible as are the massive finely dressed blocks of stones that were used in the construction of the building—note the smooth “bosses” and “margins.”

The standing columns above the molding outline windows on the upper floor of the palace.
