View from the southwest looking northeast. The two, partially preserved, circular towers guard the southern entrance to Perge. They were built in the third century B.C. and were standing when Paul, Barnabas, and John Mark visited the city about A.D. 47.

The twin towers still stand to a height of almost 40 feet [12 m.]!
