View looking west into the main room of the Roman Nymphaeum that is located near Andriace. On the left side of the image, is the interior of the nymphaeum’s west wall.
The three niches on the west wall probably held statues of gods or goddesses, or emperors, or elite persons. The three lower openings may have allowed water from the outside to enter the room. Note, all of the stonework is finely crafted
The water in the room seems to have been some type of a pool.
This water source supplied water to Myra 1.0 miles to the northeast and to its port, Andriace—0.6 miles west-southwest of the Nymphaeum.
