View looking east in the main room of the Roman Nymphaeum that is located near Andriace. In the center of the image, is the interior of the nymphaeum’s east wall.
The top of the wall has been robbed away, but three niches, the bottoms of which are barely visible, probably held statues of gods or goddesses, or emperors, or elite persons. The three lower openings may have allowed water to exit the room on its way to nearby Myra (1.0 miles). Note, all of the stonework is finely crafted
The water in the room seems to have been some type of a pool.
This water source supplied water to Myra 1.0 miles to the northeast and to its port, Andriace—0.6 miles west-southwest of the Nymphaeum.
