Looking south southeast at the harbors of Knidos. Just to the right of the center of the image is the smaller military harbor that was entered from right to left, and on the left (east) side of the image the commercial harbor is visible.
In the background is the "island" of Cape Krio that is now connected to the mainland (from where this picture was taken) by a narrow isthmus (left of center of image). Originally this "isthmus" was a series of docks (that have now silted in) and there was a connecting passage between the two harbors.
