St Paul's Grotto

View of the interior of Saint Paul's Grotto that is located below the Collegiate Church of Saint Paul in Rabat.

According to "tradition," this is where Paul lived and preached during his three-month stay on Malta. Although there are Roman remains in the area, there is no substantial basis for this tradition.

The grotto was visited by Pope John Paul II in 1990 and 2001, and by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010.
