View looking west at the site of Sussita (center of the image). This site rises about 990 ft. [300 m.] above the surface of the Sea of Galilee, upon which it had a harbor. The ridge on the left side of the image connects the site to the Golan Heights.
Note the deep wadis to the left (south) and right (north) of the site.
An inverted siphon runs along this ridge. It carried water to the top of Hippos from springs on the Golan Heights to the west.
