View looking northeast at the “barrel vaulted” shops along one of Gadara’s streets. These shops actually supported the terrace which was originally a forum and later the site of Byzantine Churches.
In the lower left foreground is a cistern covered by a metal lid. The visible columns are those of the atrium of one of the later Byzantine Churches.
