View looking southeast at the “barrel vaulted” shops along one of Gadara’s streets. These shops actually supported the terrace which was originally a forum and later the site of Byzantine Churches.
Note the reconstructed facades built of black basalt.
The visible columns are those of the atrium of one of the later Byzantine Churches.
