View looking east at the modern altar at the east wall of the Church of St. Peter.
To the left of the altar is a narrow tunnel that is said to have been used by Christians as an escape route in times of danger. To the right of the altar a basin that collects dripping water is barely visible.
Behind the altar is a “bishop’s chair.”
