View from the top (16th) row of the back, north end of the Bouleuterion, looking south, down into the building. In the center the altar is visible and to the right (west) and left (east) note the descending benches. Six hundred and forty people could fit into the building.
Note especially the niche in the far (south) wall of the building. Some have thought that this area contained a desk that was used by a secretary.
In the upper right portion of the image are scattered architectural remains of a stoa and the Temple of Zeus — both of which were located south of the Bouleuterion.
