This photos was taken from the eastern wall of the Bouleuterion.
The Prytaneum was the place where the daily administrative functions of the city were carried out. Here city officials met and ate together. Here visitors to the city were entertained and here the sacred fire of the city, dedicated to the goddess Hestia, was maintained.
