Water System (Entrance)  View looking down, north northeast, at the keyhole shaped entrance to the sloping tunnel of the water system at Gezer.

In the light area of the image there are steps that lead down from upper center to the lower left portion of the image.  At the bottom of this open sloping staircase, there is a 90 degree turn and one enters a sloping tunnel carved in the rock that descends 132 ft. [42 m.] to a chamber where water from the water table would collect.
