Looking north into the cavea of the theater at Assos.  Note the wedge shaped seating areas (cunei) and the stairs that divide them.  Above the center of the image the undulating unexcavated seating area is clearly visible.  The undulating pattern is possibly due to an earthquake.

In the lower left of the image, barely visible, is part of the foundation of the Roman stage area (skene).   The green semi-circle is the orchestra area.

In the lower left portion of the orchestra note the carved stone trough that served as a drain for water.  In the upper left portion of the image a structure in the agora and a protruding rock of the citadel are visible.
