View looking west at the southern portion of the two foundation walls of the Late Roman Temple in Antioch on the Orontes.  This picture was taken at the Southern Gate.  These walls run parallel to each other all the way around the temple.

The one on the left is the outer foundation wall of the Temple Platform and the one on the right is the inner wall.

The outer foundation wall of the Temple Platform is preserved to a height of 15 feet!  It is built of opus caementicium (Roman concrete) with pebble stones and cement mortar.
