View looking east southeast at the sacrificial altar and the tent.
The altar was made out of acacia wood and covered with a layer of bronze. It measured 5 x 5 x 3 cubits (= 7.5 x 7.5 x 3.5 ft. [2.3 x 2.3 x 1.3 m.]) The "horns" on the four corners are visible. It was hollow and carried by the removable poles—also visible. The two pitchforks and the stone ramp leading up to it are both hypothetical but plausible reconstructions.
