One orthostat from the "Long Wall" at Carchemish. The orthostat features two helmeted warriors. Their shields are hung on their backs and spears in their right hands. The warrior on the right carries a human head! The one on the left holds a small conquered enemy by the hair and another small enemy is bowing at his feet.
The orthostats are about 3.5 feet high and date to the Neo-Hittite Period (ca. 900-717 BC).
