View on the north edge of the acropolis looking south.  The walls of the acropolis are on the top of the image.

The Arsenal was used to store weapons and foodstuffs.  There are five long rectangular structures (warehouses).  The foundations of an excavated arsenal are located on the right side of the image.  The wall of an unexcavated arsenal on the left side.

They were constructed in the 3rd and 2nd centuries B.C.  Nine–hundred rounds of aspherical shot (sphonduloi) in 13 different sizes were found in them.  These shot were hurled at enemies by large machines (palintonon). They weighed from 6 lbs. (2.8.kg) to 166 lbs. (75.2 kg.)!
