View from the terrace where the Temple of Trajan was located looking south across the theater of Pergamum. The theater had 80 rows of seats and was the steepest of all of the theaters in Turkey. The vertical drop from the top seats to the stage area is 165 ft. [50 m.] It could seat about 10,000 people.
The two trees just above the center of the image mark the location of the Altar of Zeus. Above it and to the left, the flat area, with a small single tree, is the area where the Temple to Athena was located.
The building in the lower right portion of the image is the Temple of Dionysus. The narrow flat area proceeding away from it, to the south, is an 807 ft. 246 m.] long promenade that leads from the theater to the upper agora.
