View from the north looking south at the temple. The platform on which the temple stood is in the center of the image (note the re–erected columns). Note also the tree on the right side of the image. It is growing in the middle of the Altar of Zeus, and the tower, just to the left of the tree, marks the location of the Temple of Athena. Actually, the theater (out of view) is located on the slope between the Temple of Trajan and the tree and tower.
