This large marble statue of the goddess Athena is a copy of the one that was in the Parthenon in Athens! It was placed on a pedestal in one of the rooms of the Library at Pergamum where it was found.
It is now placed in the room in the Pergamum Museum in Berlin where the entrance (propalea) of the Temple of Athena is located.
Unfortunately it is sited in front of the façade of the Temple of Zeus Sosipolis ("savior of the city") that was in Magnesia on the Maeander (in Turkey)—not in Pergamum.
